This song is about doing your best to be perfect in the eyes of others and the realisation that it doesn't actually get you anywhere.

lyrics
Tired to be the perfect schoolgirl,
All straight A's, no detentions,
Teacher's pet, classroom boffin,
I tried, where did it get me?
Tried to be the perfect worker,
Gave my life to my director,
Worked weekends, bank holidays,
I tried, where did it get me?
Can't be the person you want me to be,
Can't live this old life, got to be free,
Can't be the person you want me to be,
Can't keep on floating so far out at sea,
Can't be the person you want me to be,
Can't you just open your eyes and see?
Can't you just love me, accept me as me?
Tried to be the perfect girlfriend,
Clean house, scrubbed floors, meals twice a day,
Took on your dreams as my direction,
I tried, where did it get me?
I tried to wear all those hats,
On a head that need nothing,
A head that's mine, mine all mine,
I tried, where did it get me?
Can't be the person you want me to be,
Can't live this old life, got to be free,
Can't be the person you want me to be,
Can't keep on floating so far out at sea,
Can't be the person you want me to be,
Can't you just open your eyes and see?
Can't you just love me, accept me as me? Me!
PAULA POWERED is a French-British-Digital trio who
brings the retro 80's into the 21st century with songs that mix punk, pop and electro with old video game sounds thanks to A12 - their trusty Amiga 1200.
Jordan Vauvert
Probably one of the best Chiptune albums out there. It's amazing how highly musical it is. I'm happy to finally have it in my collection and might even be able to spin one or two of the tunes on my next chiptune gig. A classic CyberPixl
